UNITED KINGDOM NATIONAL CONVENTION
The 2nd annual IETA Conference on the 16th and 17th of June held at the British Racing School at Newmarket was an outstanding success. Ivana and Jock flew in direct from Texas and were both extremely proud of the turnout and the way that Lara and the IETA team put the conference together. Some absolutely excellent presenters gave insights to their modalities which ranged from ‘What is a Horse’ to Computerized Gait analysis.

Ivana as usual gave a flawless lecture on Fascia and her enthusiasm for the subject and her detailed delivery once again showed her consummate researcher’s gift for leaving no detail uncovered. The new software, shirts, kool packs, key rings, jewelry went down well with everyone.
The conference was attended by Instructors and students from all over. New Instructor, Eva Longborn Madsen (pictured) flew over from Denmark to Join up with Chris Wyllie and Heather McReynolds and Lara Neigbour to lend their support in making this a weekend to be proud of.
P.S. From Jock. " When one starts anything new due to growth and success their is always an element of fear, especially for Ivana and I as delegation is new to us, but both of us are extremely proud of the way IETA and the NCC in the UK hosted and presented this amazing conference. All we can say is we are looking forward to the next one and hoping to help make it the conference that everyone from all over Euorope will want to intend."

THE HORSE WHISPERERS MEET THE HORSE LISTENERS

At last, the ones who started it all meet up and make a great connection. It has been eleven years since Jock 'accidentally' discovered the gift of Equine Touch and although over the years he has worked with some of the best known horsemen in the world his personal wish has always to meet the man who he considers changed the way the world looked at horses. 'I remember' said Jock ' that when people started to ask me to work on horses, I was terrified I knew nothing. I went to the local library took out Monty's book and video and watched them every day for a week. Without Monty there would never have been an Equine Touch."
At the Intelligent Horsemanship headquarters in Oxfordshire, Monty, Jock, Ivana and top UK trainer Kelly Marks exchanged stories and ideas with Kelly's students who then sat back and watched Monty and Jock work on 'Pumpkin' a horse with some major behavior and physical problems. The end result a completely changed 'for the better' horse. peaceful, calm doing whatever was requested, proving that once again Equine Touch compliments, supports and works in harmony with considerate intelligent horsemanship, a feeling echoed by Monty himself upon seeing the end result.
For Jock and Ivana apart from the thrill of meeting Monty it was also great to watch him work first hand and see the respect with which he treated the horse as well as the amazing skills he possesses as he brought a 'bundle of dynamite' who could have injured someone into a harmonious partnership with humans within 30 minutes. An amazing man.

ANATOMY DISSECTION CLINICS WITH IVANA PLANNED FOR NEXT YEAR
Equine Touch is not standing still! Equine Touch practitioners and students are the leaders in the field of gentle, non invasive, non diagnostic ‘hands on’ horse care. After long consideration and many requests Ivana has agreed to hold a series of’ Equine Dissection Clinics for Equine Body Workers’. Earlier this year after attending a dissection clinic and being extremely disappointed at the lack of knowledge and dissection skills presented by the instructor several of her co-students on seeing Ivana’s expertise in anatomy and surgical skills asked her to consider holding her own classes for bodyworkers. For you who do not know Ivana’s history she was a practical lecturer in anatomy focusing on dissection at the Czech Vet University.
As many of you are already aware anatomy is Ivana’s passion and as she is currently writing an Equine Anatomy book which she hopes to complete during our summer hiatus in Czech. The inclusion of the dissection class along with the continual development of ET and Beyond will continue the journey of ET taking it to a new level of credibility in the international equine world.
If you are interested in attending the Dissection Clinics when they become available in 2009 please let us know. We are intending holding them in Australia, USA, UK and New Zealand. Your feedback on this would be most welcome.
AUSTRALIAN TIT BIT FROM TRISH BUCHAN
daughter Dea (a level 3 student) and I performed BBB on the mare to relax and connect with her and then did a complete scrub with iodine. We began with the L1 work on the STL followed by the abdominal procedures from L2. Immediately we noticed some mild contractions and introduced some traction on the placenta.

EXCELLENT EQUINE TOUCH SYMPOSIUM HELD AT HARSTROP FARM
Hartstop Farm, the headquarters of Intelligent Horsemanship was the new venue for the June, Jock and Ivana symposium in the UK. Ldevel 3 UK students were joined by ........... from France for Ivasna's Level 3 while Jock took a class of Practitioners through ET and Beyond as well putting them relentlessly through the Branding showing them how dedication to performing this introductory procedure is so important, not only for the horse but the practitioner also. Hartstop Farm is an excellent venue to teach at, covered arenas with round pens enabled the two classes to be taught in synergy without intruding on the other.

MESSAGE FROM JOCK AND IVANA
At last we are at home in Czech Republic. Time to rest, or time to work, same thing. If we must have a focus for 2008 it must be to make IETA a strong and credible world wide body as soon as possible. As the founders of Equine Touch we are profoundly aware of the impact that ET and other non invasive hands on modalities are having on the quality of life of our horses everywhere. It is not about the fact that one is better than the other, it is about the fact that we are all helping horses. There are several schools of thought that oppose our very existence, not only as practitioners but as horse owners working on their own animals. We have in one corner the close minded vets (usually the most vocal) the pharmaceutical companies, who do not like the fact that we can help horses without buying their expensive drugs and the skeptical government bodies who 200 years ago would have us burnt at the stake. We need a body to represent all of us, to be our voice, no matter where or when. When Mary from Minnesota stands up and talks on her own behalf it has nowhere near the effect that Pam from Texas has when she stands up and represents a world body called IETA with thousands of members. This is one of the reasons we need you to join. It is simply about having a credible voice that will be listened to. We are in a legislation driven world, there is no one who will listen to the individual, but a respected body of horse carers can make all the difference.
Join IETA please, we have chapters up and running in UK, USA and Canada, Sweden, New Zealand and one under construction in Australia. If you are not already a member then contact your local instructor, NCC, or IETA representative and join up now. Our horses need your numbers to help them. Let’s make a drive to keep them alive.
Thats all for just now folks, Remember to keep these stories coming in. The Equine Touch is making a difference and your case studies and stories let the entire horse world know that there is more than simply saying "I love my horse' try saying instead ' I care about my horse, and then go out and prove it, to the horse, to yourself and then to all of those horse people all around you.
Aloha Jock and Ivana
